Menopause |
|
|
|
|
The changes that occur at the time of the
menopause can have profound short and long term
effects on a womanâs health. Symptoms of the
menopause that can benefit from treatment include
hot flushes, night sweats, tiredness, insomnia,
mood changes, poor memory, joint aches and pains,
dry skin and hair, decreased libido and vaginal
dryness. Long term problems that can be prevented
include osteoporosis, heart disease and strokes.
Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is used
to treat symptoms of the menopause, and there are
a growing number of preparations available. Some
patients require several adjustments before
finding a suitable form of HRT.
